| 04/05/2008 - Tigers reach Final of Claypole Under 8's Tournament |
Tigers U8's (Playing under the name of Clay-Thorpe (we had 2 Claypole players in the team)) managed to reach the Final of the Claypole Under 8's tournament on Sunday 4th May.
At the final whistle the the score was Farndon 0:0 Clay-Thorpe.
So it was down to the dreaded penalty shoot-out to decide the days victors.
Unfortunatley, one team has to lose...and it was us.........Farndon won 2-1.
However, it was a great team performance by all players. This is a good start to the summer season, and I'm sure the start of exciting times ahead.

| 30/03/2008 - Notts Forest's young Tigers do the club proud. |
Four Tigers players represented Nottingham Forest's development centre at an Easter tournament in Holland and all were a credit to both Forest and the Tigers.
Luke McClymont played in the under 8's who finished 3rd out of 16 teams in their two day tournament. He scored the goal in a 1-0 win against a strong Dutch team that secured top spot for Forest in the group on Saturday.
The Forest under 9's had a real Tigers feel to it with Joe Stanley, Ryan Mcabe and Kyle Ray all playing and Simon Pattison, (Tigers Under16's manager) as coach. The under 9's won their tournament and without conceding a single goal. Kyle scored 5 goals, Ryan 3 and Joe 1. They also played against a really strong academy side on Friday and managed a 4-4 draw.
These boy's have had a real experience playing against teams from different countries and it was also great to see the NNYFL represented so strongly across all age groups.

| 19/03/2008 - TIGERS UNDER 8 TRAINING |
THE UNDER 8'S ARE NOW ON A TRAINING BREAK FOR A FEW WEEKS.
TRAINING WILL START AGAIN ON TUESDAY 22 APRIL 08 AT WINTHORPE COMMUNITY CENTRE FOOTBALL PITCH.
TRAINING WILL BE 6PM - 7:30 PM.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT CORRECT TRAINING KIT IS WORN, INCLUDING SHIN-GUARDS AND BOOTS. ALSO BRING A DRINK.
THERE WILL BE NO USE OF THE CENTRE TOILET FACILITIES DURING TRAINING. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.!!!

| 29/01/2008 - Sally Wins Nottinghamshire Sports Volunteer of the Year |
Congratulations to Club Chairman, Sally Sillery, who walked away from this evening's award ceremony with the prestigious Nottinghamshire Sports Volunteer of the Year.
This year's Nottinghamshire Sports Review was held at the plush East Midlands Conference Centre and was attended by the county's top performing amateur and professional sports men and women along with an impressive list of local dignatories. It was aginst this backdrop and very strong competition from all other sports that Sally picked up the trophy for her work both with the Tigers and the New Newark Youth League, where she also plays an important role.
Ted Harris, NNYFL Registrar, also picked up a coveted Roll of Honour award for his 40+ years of selfless work for football in Newark.
Congratulations to you both, your hard work is very much appreciated. |

| 04/10/2006 - GIANT CHRISTMAS RAFFLE |
We are organising a Giant Christmas Raffle with the draw to take place during December. Ian Hough & myself have received formal notice of approval from Newark & Sherwood District Council & we are in the process of writing to local firms with the hope of them donating prizes. In addition, Jacksons Building Centre of Newark have kindly sponsored the printing of the raffle tickets - thank you Ian!
We are looking to distribute tickets to players & parents very early in November & as an added incentive, we have a pair of Forest tickets for every age group from under 8's to under 16's inclusive to the player who sells most tickets! So please, your support in this is greatly appreciated.
In addition, if there are any parents out there who may be willing to donate a prize, any offers will be received with thanks as well. The more prizes we have, the more tickets we would sell to help the club benefit children of today & also many generations to come. Please email me if you think you can be of help.
