14/02/2010 - Competition for all Tigers - Signed Forest Shirt for the Winner!

We are wanting Tigers players to design a badge which could be used on our future football kits.

This is a chance for you to put pen to paper.  Draw the badge on an A4 sheet of paper, not forgetting to put your name and age at the top and return it to myself by the end of May 2010.

The winner will be announced at the Presentation and will receive a signed Nottingham Forest Football Shirt!

I look forward to receiving your designs.

Zoe

13/02/2010 - Tigers Gain Charter Standard Status

It is with great pride to announce that as of February 2010 Tigers have officially been awarded by the football association 'Charter Standard Status'. The award is a is best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing and coaching experience for all.

We are continuing with the 50:50 Club next year.  This year lots of people have won (some more than once) and have all been mentioned on the website.

Many thanks to everybody who have returned their forms back for next year.  If you are wishing to renew or join for the first time there is still time!  Please contact me if you need a form.

Many thanks for your support and good luck!

Zoe

25/09/2009 - Tigers Presentation for 2010

A few people have mentioned to me that in future they would like more made of our Presentation Day.  The Club have held Presentations at different venues and now want your ideas, big or small.

If you do have an idea please let a Club Official know or post them on the guestbook.  We won't display the ideas on the website but I will be able to record it.

I know it seems so long away but the bigger the thing the more time it takes to organise!

Many thanks,

03/08/2009 - Answers to the 'Tale of The Sea' football quiz

The sun shone BRIGHTON the day my sister, my mother and myself set sail for the ORIENT in a very old ship, its HULL already riddled with holes.

The four CREWE members who had been with the sailing company for years were Don, Mont, Kirk and Bart (who unfortunately could not speak).  Not having been paid FORFAR too long they were unhappy and disillusioned and so on the second WEDNESDAY of the voyage they obtained arms by breaking into the ARSENAL and mutineered.

Although they treated my MOTHERWELL they did not take to my sister at all and DONCASTER adrift on a raft.  I was terrified and hid in my cabin keeping the BOLTON.

The crew raided the larder but found nothing but a smelly OLDHAM.  So hungry were they that they ate almost the FULHAM.  Before seeking to quench their thirsts, they forced open the drinks cabinet.  Finding that we did not STOCKPORT they opted for a small drink of whiskey.

“Right” said Kirk, with TOTTENHAM in hand.  “I’ll climb the rigging to see if we can sight land”.  “Watch you don’t FALKIRK” said his mate.  Meanwhile, the others had a CHESTER treasure.  It was easy to open as the chain securing it only had one LINCOLN.  At this moment the ship began to sink.  MONTROSE quickly.  “Get DUMBARTON to deck to give me a hand” he shouted and together they lifted LUTON to a raft.

With mother and me with them they drifted for days before seeing an island with a VILLA.  After locating the PORTSMOUTH they went ashore only to find that the island was uninhabited.  There were signs however that there had been somebody there recently as a NEWCASTLE had been built next to the harbour.  There had obviously been a fire as BLACKBURN marks were to be seen on all of the buildings and a horrible smell of smoke hung in the AYR.  It broke our HEARTS to see the disarray.

“I wonder where this road LEEDS us”, said Kirk.  And although the crew were tired, they PRESTON with their search for survivors.  We suddenly found ourselves falling into a deep pit with a BLACKPOOL of water at the bottom.

At this moment I woke up.  LEICESTER be any of you worried it had been a terrible nightmare caused I think by READING Treasure Island before I went to sleep!

The Club are so fortunate to have Maureen Tur in charge and managing Tiger Tuck.  Maureen has all the relevant qualifications (and more) and is assisted by Emma Bell.

Well done Maureen and I am sure your bacon butties will be a sell out again next season!

01/06/2009 - Tigers Tournament U10's Winners
Tigers U10's rounded off a superb season with victory on home turf in the Tigers Summer Tournament U10's section. Victories over East Bridgford Juniors, RHP Colts and a nail biting penalty shoot out over Bridge Colts saw Tigers take the title in style! A superb display by Daniel Wainwright in goal saw him save two penalties and score one along the way....Well done Boys!!!

18/05/2009 - TIGERS FOREST BOYS DO US PROUD

Three of our top stars set of for Holland at Easter to represent Nottingham Forest development centre and the Tigers.

Kyle Ray of the under 11's - Scored the best goal of the whole tournament ever, so he tells me. He did show great skill as always.

Highlight of his trip - Chicken Nuggets on the Ferry Home, only joking.

Joe Stanley of the under 10's - Ran the games from defence and played in the same team as Kyle. They played all weekend and lost only one game, against the other Forest team.

Luke McClymont - Under 9's - Impressed all weekend and scored 5 goals. He even Smiled once.

These boys are a credit to Tigers and have learnt new skills playing against opposition from different countries. The Development centre puts together players of a high standard from many different clubs and I would recommend any child given the opportunity to give it a try.
