Another slow start by Tigers saw Bingham take the early initiative and force a change in Tigers' formation after just 5 minutes. Changing from a 1-3-2 to a 2-3-1 saw Tigers take control of the game and create literally dozens of fantastic chances. However, a combination of poor finishing (again) and inspired goalkeeping frustrated Tigers' early efforts.
Bingham took the lead against the run of play when they capitalised on a defensive error, but Tigers were level within a minute. A great run and cross from Thomas found Max in the area. The keeper made a great save at Max's feet and with both players on the floor Max managed to swivel round and poke the ball in before the keeper could get his hands to it - superb improvisation!
A few minutes later Sam Pick found Thomas unmarked in the area and Thomas coolly slotted the ball past the keeper. Tigers were now passing the ball around creating chance after chance. It was only the finishing that let them down and at 2-1 it looked like it could have been one of those days until Sam Buchan played Max in and Max thumped one into the corner.
On the stroke of half time Max and Thomas broke away and with just 1 defender to beat Max drew him in and played in Thomas who put the ball through the keepers legs.
4-1 at half time and Tigers were firmly in control of the game. Max completed his hat-trick soon after the re-start when he slid the ball in from a tight angle. Sam Buchan then slid a perfect pass through the Bingham defence and Max then got his 4th goal and Tigers' 6th.
Bingham then hit back with a goal on their own after Tigers failed to clear at the back and were caught in possession. Tigers quickly responded after Sam Pick came back on and deservedly got a goal and soon after made a slide rule pass through the Bingham defence for Thomas to complete his hat-trick with a fantastic finish.
James Martin came off the bench and almost scored the goal of the day. Played in by Max he went round two defenders and hit a fantastic shot from a wide angle that hit the far post and bounced out.
This was a good performance with the players passing it around with confidence. A lack of composure in front of goal doesn't reflect Tigers dominance of the game but does show where we need to improve.
